Based in Baltimore/Washington, The Coastal Companies is a leading Mid-Atlantic produce and dairy supplier, serving major retailers along the East Coast. For the past 10 years, IDGB has worked with The Coastal Companies, developing the company’s brand identity elements and extending the brand’s market presence through digital and collateral materials. The company has earned a reputation for being an industry leader and has nearly quadrupled in size throughout this period.
As Coastal planned completion of its new, state-of-the-art corporate headquarters, IDGB was presented with an exciting branding challenge: transform the company’s new headquarters into a vibrant canvas that tells The Coastal Companies brand story and communicates that Coastal is a world-class organization, fully committed to its people, its high-quality products, and excellent customer service.

Working closely with Coastal CEO, John Corso, IDGB strategically tackled this intriguing challenge, starting at the brand’s foundation – the Coastal brand promise. To bring the brand to life, we carefully explored what the company’s brand promise means to its customers, to the Coastal team and to the company’s suppliers. Every choice that was made – every color, graphic, material, and texture – was deliberately selected to convey the brand promise and reinforce the brand identity.
Through this disciplined branding approach, Coastal’s 330,000 square foot blank canvas has been transformed into a vibrant, dynamic setting that reinforces the values that have made the company so successful, inspires the Coastal team, and positions Coastal as a world-class industry leader.
